ABOUT COLLEGE
The scenic mountain town of Theog is situated at an hour's drive from Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The NH-22 meanders and climbs up the hill ranges, covering a distance of 32 kms from Shimla, before it reaches this eye catching locale. The town has a population of about 9000 and the main occupation of the natives is agriculture. The magnificent vista of snow clad, Himalayas, provides a majestic background to the town. The crisp mountain air is scented with pine and cedar, which abound in the area. In this poetic setting, at the highest point of the town, atop âChundu Hillâ, is situated the temple of learning, the Government Degree College, Theog.....

Education is a tool to nurture and refine human beings. It should give both knowledge and wisdom. It is a powerful instrument in awakening the minds and sensibilities of students- inspiring them to think critically, feel deeply and act responsibly. Govt. Degree College, Theog firmly upholds this ideology and strives to provide a congenial and nurturing atmosphere to the students. The institution, established in 1998, has cultivated numerous generations of educated, responsible, and entrepreneurial individuals. Around 1100 students from surrounding areas seek admission to this college every year rather than travelling 32 kilometers to the state capital Shimla, which serves as an indication to the quality of education provided. Seventeen subjects are offered across the three primary disciplines of Arts, Science, and Commerce at the college. The institution imparts holistic education by nurturing intellectual, emotional, social, moral and spiritual dimensions of each studentâs growth and development.
